If you find that the internet is slower than usual, follow these steps:
- First, restart the device through which you connect to the router (computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet).
- Then restart your router by unplugging the power adapter from the socket. If you use an antenna to receive the internet, restart it in the same way. After restarting the antenna, wait approximately 2 minutes for it to fully start, and then restart the router again.
- Be careful not to confuse the terms restart and reset. Pressing the RESET button would erase your router's configuration and require a paid technical visit for reconfiguration.
- Connect the device directly to the router using an ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi. Check if the connection is slowed down due to Wi-Fi signal interference.
- If the internet is slow only via Wi-Fi, try adjusting the position of the router's antenna, moving the router, or changing the broadcast channels in the settings.
- Check if there are any processes running on your computer that may slow down the internet, such as file downloads, antivirus scanning, disk defragmentation, or installing updates. Also, check for sufficient free space on the hard drive and the presence of viruses.
- Keep in mind that 85% of internet speed issues are often caused by the home network. Ensure you have a full signal and that the router is not covered.
- If none of the above applies to you, perform a measurement according to the instructions here.
- Please write the measurement results in a note when you report a fault to us.
