1. How to set up home internet connection

In the Czech Republic, you can choose between several large operators and a number of smaller, often local providers. INTERCONNECT is among the local operators but offers coverage across the country.

First, find out the exact address of your new residence, for example:

Václavské náměstí 1282/51, 11000 Prague – New Town

Enter the address on the website www.interconnect.cz – available plans for permanently installed connections will be displayed. All packages include unlimited data and differ in speed. Enter the address precisely, otherwise the results may not be accurate.

2. Types of connections in the Czech Republic

The most common connection technologies include:

The website will show you what is available at your new home based on the entered address.

3. What documents you will need

For EU citizens: A valid ID card or passport is sufficient. In some cases, confirmation from the landlord may be required, for example, for drilling or cable installation – you will receive the form in advance.

For non-EU citizens: You will need a passport and one of the following documents:

4. Signing the contract without complications

You can sign a contract with INTERCONNECT electronically – without the need for a special certificate. Just sign with your finger on a mobile or with a mouse on a computer. If you have a Czech bank account, you can use the so-called bank identity.

Alternatively, you can print the contract, sign it, and send it by email as a scan. However, this method is less preferred.

5. Step-by-step connection installation

After completing the order and signing the contract, a technician will arrive within the agreed two-hour window. If you ordered a new router, it will be delivered to you in advance by courier.

The technician is unlikely to speak anything other than Czech, but thanks to experience, everything will be managed even without a common language. In the Czech Republic, it is customary to take off shoes at home – it will be considered polite.

After installation, the technician will demonstrate the functionality of the connection and have you sign the handover protocol – either on paper or electronically on a tablet. You will receive a copy by email or immediately on site.

6. How payment works

Billing is done monthly. You will receive an invoice in PDF format by email, and it will contain two QR codes:

You have 15 days from issuance to pay. Non-payment may lead to service disconnection and debt collection. Your payment reliability also affects other services in the Czech Republic.

7. How to terminate the connection when moving

Transfer to a new user

Before leaving, you can transfer the connection to a new tenant or owner. Just provide their contact details to INTERCONNECT, and they will take care of the rest.

Contract termination

You can cancel the internet by giving notice – an official termination of the contract. The notice period is 1 month. It can be withdrawn at any time. The notice must include service identification, termination date, and signature.

You can submit the notice via data box, email with a certificate, mail, in person, or otherwise by agreement.

Don't forget to terminate

If you do not terminate the internet or transfer it to another person, the operator has no way of knowing that you are no longer using the service. You will have to continue paying – unpaid invoices can lead to execution.

If you had a rented modem or other equipment, it must be returned – either in person or by sending a package. The technician does not pick up the equipment.
