Procedure for measuring speed to a server located on the internet

Step 1

Make sure your computer is connected by cable or has full Wi-Fi signal.

Step 2

Make sure other computers and TVs in your home are not transferring data.

Step 3

Make sure that "INTERCONNECT s.r.o." is not displayed under the orange circle, but another server, such as "Brno University of Technology".

Step 4

Click the GO button and wait for the results.

With this process, you will verify the real speed from your computer, through the Interconnect network, across internet peering centers, all the way to your chosen destination — in our case, Brno University of Technology.

Under the wheel labeled GO, you see the server where the measurement will be conducted. You can select this server yourself by clicking. By conducting the test on the INTERCONNECT s.r.o. server, you will find out the real throughput of your connection to our headquarters. In other words, the technical parameter of your connection, what we can deliver to you on this technology at this moment.

By conducting the test on another location, you will test the throughput to a specific server at a specific location on the internet. This will vary depending on the chosen operator and destination.

To ensure the measurement result is representative, all TVs, other computers, and other devices using the internet should be turned off, and you should be connected via cable, not through home Wi-Fi.

You start the test by pressing the GO button.
